drops & wraps how-to
a lot of people have inquired about the technique for the wrapped and dropped stitches. hope this pictorial will help!
insert needle as if to knit.
instead of wrapping yarn around once as in a normal knit stitch, wrap it around twice...
...for every stitch. here's the first four stitches, with double wrap.
and here's with all 11 sts, double wrapped.
on the following row, you will drop the wrapped stitches. to do so, insert your needle as if to purl and slip the stitch from the left to the right needle, dropping the extra wrap, so it becomes one elongated stitch on the right needle.
continue doing this...
...until all 11 double-wrapped sts have been dropped and slipped to your right needle. notice how the tail is on the right? to knit all of the stitches together, the tail needs to be on the left...
...so you turn your work like this...
and then insert your needle into all 11 stitches at once, as if to knit.
knit all 11 stitches together...
...into one stitch...
...now turn and purl that stitch...
...making sure to pull all sts up tightly!
and voila!

oooooooooooooooh!
Just a hint--if you're doing it double-stranded, I found it easier to just insert a crochet hook through all 11 sts (22 pcs) (they're still on the needle), grabbing the yarn, and pulling it through to create the knit stitch.
Oooo... I loooove that yarn's color!! yummy. :)
